World Resources Institute – Road Safety Programme

2017 -This Road Safety Programme works to make cities safer by design. WRI’s research shows that prioritizing development is linked to positive safety outcomes.

The approach helps cities to:

• Avoid increase motorized travel which has been shown to be associated with higher fatality rates through land use and transport planning.
• Shift to safer modes of travel such as public and non-motorised transport.
• Improve existing mobility systems and infrastructure to maximise safety.
